Rhinoceros Improv – bringing endless possibilities
Philippa is a comedy writer, actress and improviser. She has had several writing commissions for BBC TV, and has had her own BBC Radio 4 Series. She was nominated 'Best Newcomer' Edinburgh Festival and appeared in the hit movie 'Johnny English'.
Holly is an actor, educator, improviser and comic. She devises, produces and performs theatre with and for young people for various companies including Freshwater Theatre and her own company Join the Dots Theatre. Holly is a frequent collaborator with renowned immersive dining pioneers Gingerline; she is also a regular cast member on the comedy sketch podcast Release the Clowns.
Andy is a comedian, writer, improviser and classical musician. He trained in long form comedy improvisation at the Free Association, and has studied with notable teachers such as Will Hines, Conor Ratcliff, and Anthony Apruzzese from the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, New York. As well as improv, he has studied sketch writing with the Dawson Brothers (also through the Free Association) as well as with the Second City Theatre, Chicago.
Heather is an actress, improviser and producer. She trained at the Bristol Old Vic and has appeared in various productions in theatres like the Orange Tree, Richmond, Bush Theatre, Soho Theatre, The Royal Exchange in Manchester, and the School Hall in St Gregory's the Great in Oxford. She is also a theatre facilitator, her most recent work is with a neuro-divergent led company on a production for Soho Theatre.
Jay is an actress, comedian, writer and improviser. Her alter ego Yazmine Day has received rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival 2019. She was nominated Best Comedy Event (Buxton Fringe) as seen on BBC 3. She improvises for the Free Association.
Chris Gau is a producer and writer, known for Borderline for Channel 5 (2016), (TV Series) (executive producer - 11 episodes, 2016 - 2017) (associate producer - 1 episode, 2016). Further credits include Screen Grab (2014) and Bin Day (2014). John Bishop's Britain Himself - Music Producer, Kilburn. He improvises for the Free Association and coaches for them.
Alice works in TV production, working on a variety of comedy and entertainment programmes. As an improviser, she has performed as part of musical improv teams The Verbs and Baron Sternlook's Improvised Musical, and in The Broadgate Garden Society as part of the City of London's Women, Work and Power season.
Writer, director, performer and improviser. Anna was part of the Free Association’s performance lab team ‘Supermoon’. She runs an inclusive young peoples’ theatre company, Hackney Shed. Most recently she directed and produced a show which was part of the National Theatre Connections 2019. She also works in mental health and learning disability, using drama with young people.
David Houston is a performer, improviser, writer and artist. His background is in cinema and sound, studying up to an MA in visual communication at the Royal College of Art. David works freelance in devising immersive theatre/game productions.
